ADDITIONAL
BRAKING LIGHT
Modification
by Luigi Morielli (Monzi)
The modification I'm describing here is an extremely simpler version than the explication you can find on the German sites about C1.
Necessary material:
Let's start
from the object:
a car adjustable additional braking light 36 led (Figure1) that
you can find in a Ipermarket (price about 11,5 euros).
First eliminate the
2 adhesive supports (a screw blocks one of them)
that should be necessary to stop the additional braking light on the rear
of the car (Figure 2). Then
you have to make two holes (perpendicular to the surface of the additional braking
light), on the cylindrical part previously inserted in the supports, of a diameter
that allows the passage of the black wraps. Let's insert the wraps on the
holes leaving both the end of the thread and the starting part of the
wraps in the higher part. Put the additional braking light in position and let the
wraps pass behind the hardwares that support the rear of C1 (Fig.3 and Fig.4 blue
and red arrows). Now let the thread pass behind the rubberized support/spoiler
(Fig.4 green arrow) until
you reach the sheet of the motorbike body, go around it from the high and insert
the thread between the sheet and the rubberized support ( Fig.4 green
arrow). Continue towards the bottom,
use a screw-driver to raise the motorbike body sweetly
and use another screw-driver to push softly the thread of the interstice (Fig.5 red
arrow). Take apart the back...
When you arrive to the green arrow of Figure
5 you have to
unscrew the supporting screw in all its length, raise the anchorage stirrup of the rear,
insert the thread behind the splice between the two black plastic parts and
insert it in the space of the back getting it pass behind the fuses;
caution because the security belt must not interfere with the thread;
this is to avoid damages to both of them . Screw
the parts; the stirrup of the rear has to stay this time under the black "lip"
to leave a bit of additional space for the thread . Search
the hole of communication between the space of the back and the space of the
battery and insert the starting point of the thread taking it from the
drawer under the junction of the topcase/luggage rail. Open the cover
of the rear light of the motorbike and look at the colours of the electrical
threads. In my rear light the colours were: Brown mass (-) common (Fig.6
yellow arrow) Red/green positive braking
light (Fig.6 red arrow) Yellow/black positive
position. Extract the lampholder to work with more comfort and make the elecrical
connections with rubacorrente. Remember that if the threads of the
additional braking light have a color, they will certainly be positive red and
negative black. Instead, if they are both black remember that the thread
marked with a little white strip is the positive one. After the connection,
take the cutter and make a small and long cut (Fig.6 blue
arrow) in the edge of the opening for the rear light; it will be necessary to
avoid ruining or even cutting the cable that we are putting. Close
carefully the cover and hold the thread with strength (Fig.7). Et voilą (Fig.8) Put
everithing in his place, and you have finished: now everybody will notice your
C1 when you are braking! In Figure 8 you
can also notice the additional lights... But this is another story... ;-)
